Our Programs & Activities

Holistic programs designed to nurture every aspect of a child's development β€” physical, emotional, cognitive, and social.

What We Offer

Each program is thoughtfully designed to develop specific skills while ensuring every child feels valued, engaged, and empowered.

🍞 Cooking & Bakery

Our cooking and bakery sessions are far more than just food preparation β€” they are rich, multisensory learning experiences. Children learn to follow recipes (reading and sequencing), measure ingredients (mathematical concepts), and work together as a team.

The tactile experience of kneading dough, the visual stimulation of watching bread rise, and the pride of tasting something they made themselves β€” these moments build confidence and independence.

🎨 Handicrafts

Creative expression is a powerful tool for children with special needs. Through painting, paper craft, clay modelling, and textile work, our children develop fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to focus on a task for extended periods.

Each completed craft project gives children a tangible sense of accomplishment. Many of their creations are displayed at exhibitions and events, boosting self-esteem and public recognition.

🌱 Mission Black Gold β€” Gardening

Our gardening program, fondly called "Mission Black Gold," connects children with the earth. From preparing soil and sowing seeds to watering, weeding, and harvesting β€” children experience the complete cycle of life.

This program teaches environmental awareness, patience, responsibility, and the profound lesson that care and nurturing lead to growth β€” a metaphor that extends to every aspect of their lives.

🎡 Music & Rhythm

Music is at the heart of New Leaf Foundation. Led by co-founder Nikhil Gandhi, our music sessions use rhythm, melody, and movement to unlock emotional expression, improve communication, and build social bonds.

The highlight of this program is The Africanian Band β€” a unique ensemble where children with special needs perform alongside neurotypical peers, breaking barriers and proving that music truly is a universal language.

β›Ί Camping & Outdoor Activities

Taking children beyond the classroom is essential for building real-world skills. Our camping and outdoor programs include nature walks, team games, campfire activities, and adventure challenges that promote physical fitness and resilience.

These experiences teach children to adapt to new environments, overcome fears, and develop a sense of independence and self-reliance that carries into their daily lives.

🏠 Daily Routine & Life Skills

Structure and routine are foundational for children with developmental disabilities. Our daily routine program teaches essential life skills β€” personal hygiene, dressing, meal preparation, basic household tasks, and time management.

These seemingly simple skills are transformative. A child who can brush their teeth independently, set the table, or organize their belongings gains not just practical ability, but dignity and self-worth.
